Stepping into The Gate Restaurant is akin to discovering a hidden gem amid the quiet landscapes of Rancho Murieta. Situated at 7337 Murieta Dr, this spot combines local charm with a dash of culinary elegance. There’s something inviting about its warm interiors, where rustic decor meets contemporary design, creating an ambiance that feels both stylish and welcoming. It's the kind of place where one could comfortably unwind for an afternoon or linger over dinner.
At The Gate, the menu reads like a love letter to both comfort food and innovative gastronomy. One might find themselves torn between familiar items like their famously crispy fried chicken, warmed with just a hint of spice, and more adventurous offerings such as the herb-encrusted salmon that promises delicate flavors and a satisfying crunch. The wide-eyed delight usually comes with the arrival of the appetizers—think, lightly charred shishito peppers or the supremely creamy burrata drizzled with balsamic reduction.
In many conversations with locals and visitors alike, the same anecdotes about The Gate seem to surface: you hear about the juicy burgers that are a hit among meat lovers, or the vibrant salads brimming with seasonal produce. Every dish, approached with an artist's care, is plated with an eye for detail and a heart for hospitality. As the meal progresses and the sun dips lower, the room often echoes with exclamations of delight. If chatter around town or online reviews are anything to go by, their desserts—particularly the rustic apple tart with just the right amount of cinnamon—make a persuasive argument for not skipping the sweet course.
The attentive staff deserve noteworthy mention; they're the sort of hosts who remember your name if they’ve seen you before and are always eager to offer a recommendation. The service adds to the wonderful experience, consistently leaving diners ready to return. One doesn’t have to search far to find reviews singing praises of the service and cuisine, with many dubbing it a must-visit in the area.
Adventurers from outside Rancho Murieta are often surprised to find such a spot nestled in a quieter locale. But therein lies its charm. While it might take a short drive, the meal and the atmosphere more than compensate for any travel undertaken. So, whether it’s a celebratory dinner or just another weekday evening, The Gate Restaurant stands ready to transform the ordinary into an unforgettable dining affair.

Classy vibes here and great live music if you enjoy singer songwriter style pop, jazz, and yacht rock. I loved seeing Clemon Charles performance on xmas eve. The food is excellent, a little pricey but worth it. Staff is attentive and it's a good place to socialize or go alone if you just want to get out for the evening. They have a calendar of events online where you can see the musicians and performance dates 🎶

Beautiful hotel and restaurant!
Good breakfast and fantastic service.
I had a simple 2 egg and sausage breakfast. The eggs were perfectly cooked to my order. The sausage patty was great! A little pan fried crispiness on the outside and good ol'meaty goodness throughout. The potatoes were plentiful, but they weren't exceptional.
A nice quiet environment in the morning to read a book or have some one on one time without the hustle and business of typical chain restaurants.
Thanks for breakfast guys!

I posted a rather mediocre review some time ago, but we just finished a fabulous dinner there tonight with friends. Although we sent one dish back to be heated up, everyone was delighted with their food. Apparently, their slow cooked prime rib on Fridays is extremely popular. My salmon was fabulous, not over cooked. The bistro rice dish had corn and green onions in it. Delicious. I also had half a wedge salad, which was also good. Not too much dressing.

Missing some of the usual local favorite dishes, as they continue to change the menu. But continue to receive great service, nice local wine selection and a well rounded menu.
